Valencia Hills WAVE Swim Team
Q - What does my registration fee cover?
A - Your registration fee is used to cover the following swim
team expenses: Swimmer’s Insurance, DNO insurance (covers league
reps, coaches, managers, canteen), Ribbons/medals, Pictures,
Trophies, Equipment repair and replacement, Coach Salaries,
Championship high point trophies, Stroke & Turn judge and starter at
Champs, Security guard overnight before champs. Any other questions
about the registration fee can be directed to our League Rep.
Q - What if our swimmer has to miss a meet?
A - Please use the form included in this packet or tell one of the
coaches as soon as possible so they can plan accordingly.
Q - What time do the Meets start?
A - Dual meets are scheduled to start at 8:30am.
Championships start at 8:00am.
Q - Are parents required to volunteer to help at swim meets?
A - Yes. In order to have a successful swim season, we need
parental involvement. It takes over 50 volunteers from each team to run
a swim meet. We need parent volunteers to provide bingo, movie night,
spaghetti dinner and all the other wonderful activities. If you are
absolutely unable to volunteer during a swim meet, please see the Swim
Team Manager to discuss other options. This year, we will be keeping
track of volunteer hours.
Please check off what you might be interested in helping with on your
registration form. Also, we will have meet sign-up sheets posted the
week prior to the meet. If you have an email address, please check it
regularly to stay informed.
Q - How are ribbons awarded?
A - For individual events, heat ribbons will be awarded for the
first 3 places of each HEAT. However, the top six EVENT places will be
awarded the bigger event ribbons in lieu of place ribbons. Only 1st
place point ribbons are awarded for relays.
